A Visit to the National Palace Museum @ Taipei!

The National Palace Museum (國立故宮博物院) is an art museum in Taipei City, Taiwan. It is the national museum of the Republic of China, and has a permanent collection of over 650,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest in the world.

The museum is located in the Waishuanghsi neighborhood of the Shihlin District and can be reached via public transport like the MRT with a stop at the Shihlin station and a cab drive.

Included in the collection are artifacts made from jade, bronze, porcelain, lacquerware and enamel. There is also tapestry and embroidery, and many priceless documents and books containing excellent examples of ancient Chinese calligraphy.

The museum has its own restaurant. On its fourth floor is the famous San Hsi Tang where you can enjoy coffee and tea while enjoying the great view!

Upon arrival we were starving and decided to explore the San Hsi Tang Chinese Restaurant serving authentic Chinese Dim Sums at high rocket prices at the museum... Nice ambience and decorations surrond the place...

We ordered a hot pot of Chinese tea to begin with... As we were streaming through the menu thinking what to order, we decided to settle down with a few dim sums below.

A pot of hot tea, a soup and 2 dim sums cost us about RM 60... so expensive and it feels as though we ate nothing! LOL! :P

Anyway after some tea we decided to take some photos of the surroundings outside. No photos are allowed to be taken inside the premises of the museum...

Then it was late lunch @ some shop near the Shihlin Station... The shop is called Big Mouth Yummy Noodles! LOL! With a big signage like that, you can never miss it!

Only limited options available at this restaurant. You can opt for their braised beed noodles either soup based or dry version. The dry Beef noodles... the sauce was rather sweet though and accompanied by strips of tender beef and carrots!
